In the past 10 years one of the major changes seen in our industry has been the increasing importance of open hole completion systems. Petrowell has introduced the industry award winning CZI packer and the success, from our client’s point of view, has been tremendous. These clients were looking for a step change in open hole sealing reliability and with all due respect to other technologies on the market it was not believed that conventional ECP’s, traditional open hole compression packers or swelling packers could quite deliver the performance demanded.

Petrowell was asked to develop a sealing system that;
• Adapt to changing downhole conditions
• Can be cycled 1000 times
• Take 100 degree C temperature fluctuations (and these changes would occur in a matter of minutes)
• Take upwards of 300,000 lbs of loading, pressure and tensile forces in the lower completion
• Seal in greater hole size variations including key seated and oval holes as well as ID
• Swab resistant and chemical resistant
• Can set on demand

Petrowell is now developing Frac Sleeves / Frac Doors, ICD’s, Remote Operated Barriers, Remote Open Hole Completions and a range of accessories.
